Cubs roster move: Ryan Tepera and Cubs agree on one-year deal; Duane Underwood Jr. DFA

A big question mark about the state of the Cubs bullpen going into 2021 is now answered, as the Cubs announced on Tuesday they had agreed to a one-year deal with right-handed reliever Ryan Tepera, who first appeared with the club in the shortened 2020 season.

While terms of the deal were not confirmed at the time of its announcement, the agreement will see Tepera back in the pen for one more year. In 2020 over 21 games he posted a 3.92 ERA, 3.34 FIP, but also a career high 1.403 WHIP. He had an 0-1 record and two holds over the shortened season.
