Cubs outfielder Mike Tauchman was injured Monday evening while running out this ground ball against the Giants [VIDEO].
The Cubs later announced that Tauchman had “left groin tightness.”
Tuesday, the team was expected to place Tauchman on the 10-day injured list. He’s been one of the team’s more consistent players and, after a brief slump, was 5-for-11 (.455) with a pair of walks over his last four games.
To replace Tauchman on the 26-man roster, the Cubs were expected to recall infielder Miles Mastrobuoni from Triple-A Iowa.
