The Chicago Cubs today placed right-handed pitcher Keegan Thompson on the 15-day injured list with a viral illness and recalled left-handed pitcher Luke Little from Triple-A Iowa.
Little has made 10 appearances (one start, as an “opener”) for the Cubs this season, posting a 7.00 ERA (seven earned runs in nine innings). With Triple-A Iowa this season, Little has a 4.05 ERA (three earned runs in 6u2154 innings) in four relief appearances.
Thompson, 29, is 1-1 with a 4.97 ERA (seven earned runs in 12u2154 innings) in nine appearances for the Cubs this season.
The Cubs had been without a lefthander in the bullpen for a day after Richard Lovelady was designated for assignment upon the acquisition of Tyson Little.
