Jose Quintana’s 2020 season was delayed by a dishwashing injury to his thumb at his home in Florida.
He’s made two relief appearances and seemed destined for a start this weekend against the Cardinals. Quintana has a 6.00 ERA and 1.333 WHIP in two outings covering six innings, with nine strikeouts.
Unfortunately, that won’t happen because today, the Cubs placed Q on the 10-day injured list with left lat inflammation. Righthanded reliever Jason Adam was recalled to take Quintana’s place on the 28-man active roster.
