Carl Edwards Jr. has pitched quite well since being recalled from Triple-A Iowa at the beginning of May: 15 appearances, 2.03 ERA, 0.525 WHIP, 15 strikeouts in 13u2153 innings. He last pitched Sunday against the Cardinals.
Unfortunately, now he’s heading to the injured list:
Cubs placing Carl Edwards Jr. on the 10-day injured list with a left thoracic strain and recalling Tim Collins from Triple-A Iowa.

A thoracic strain could wind up taking quite a while to heal, so the Cubs could be without CJ for some time.
