Brian Duensing got off to a pretty good start this year, and then over his last eight appearances: 19.64 ERA, 3.136 (!) WHIP over 7u2153 innings. Yikes.
An injury (shoulder fatigue) was diagnosed and Duensing was placed on the disabled list July 1.
Now, apparently healthy again, he’s back:
Luke Farrell has posted a 3.86 ERA and 1.347 WHIP in 19 appearances covering 28 innings over three different stints with the Cubs this season. He was having a good July, with 5u2153 scoreless innings. Farrell can be useful to the Cubs as he is stretched out to go multiple innings, so I wouldn’t be surprised to see him back later in the season.
