Cubs Reportedly Sign Phillip Evans and Allen Webster to Minor League Contracts

While the rest of the National League Central has improved greatly for the 2019 season, the Cubs’ front office added two players to the minor league system earlier in the week.

The Cubs reportedly signed infielder Phillip Evans and right-hander Allen Webster to minor league contracts. It appears Evans is solely for depth while Webster could help Joe Maddon’s bullpen at some point next season.
