According to a report from Jerry Crasnick, the Cubs have signed veteran left-hander Mike Zagurski to a minor league contract. Crasnick added the deal includes a non-roster invite to big league Spring Training.
Zagurski turns 36 in January (Jan. 27). The lefty pitched in just two games for the Brewers last season and allowed seven runs, all earned, on five hits with two walks and two strikeouts in one inning (63.00 ERA, 7.00 WHIP). Zagurski had not pitched in the majors before last year since the 2013 season.
Zagurski spent a majority of the 2018 season with Triple-A Colorado Springs.
