NEW YORK -- Aaron Judge left Thursday night's game to get an MRI exam after getting hit by a pitch on the right wrist.
Judge was penciled into the Yankees' lineup as the designated hitter in the series opener against the Royals. On a 3-2 count and the sixth pitch of his at-bat in the first inning, Judge took a 93.4-mph fastball from Jakob Junis off his right wrist. He took a slow walk down to first base as head trainer Steve Donohue and manager Aaron Boone ran out to check on him.
CHICAGO -- Rookie David Bote arrived in time to deliver a game-tying two-run home run and Anthony Rizzo followed with a walk-off blast to celebrate his 1,000th career game, hitting the longest homer by a Cubs player at Wrigley Field this season, to post a 7-6 victory over the D-backs on Thursday afternoon.
