Cubs reliever Hector Rondon not worried about DL stint for triceps soreness

DENVER -- Chicago Cubs reliever Hector Rondon says he’s feeling better but still has “that issue,” referencing the sore triceps which landed him on the disabled list Friday.

“I still feel it a little bit,” Rondon said. “Not that much.”

The Cubs setup man tried to pitch through the soreness after taking time off recently, but following two appearances earlier this week, the team decided to shut him down. An MRI revealed a strain, so until the right-hander is not feeling soreness any longer, he won’t be throwing a baseball.

“Right now I won’t play catch for five-six days and let the muscle recover,” Rondon said.
