Righty Colten Brewer has a low back strain and will be on the shelf for a while, so the team has called up Porter Hodge to help in the bullpen. Hodge has a mid-to-upper-90s fastball that can touch 99 and he pairs it with a big slider that gets lots of swings and misses.
His 4.80 ERA doesn’t say much, but 26 strikeouts in 15 innings tells you Hodge can miss bats with the best of them.
