The Cubs finalized their first wave of September call-ups on Tuesday, recalling infielder Javier Baez and Tsuyoshi Wada from Triple-A Iowa. Outfielder Quintin Berry and right-hander Trevor Cahill also were added to the 40-man roster, while outfielder Austin Jackson was added to the active roster.
Baez will start at second base tonight when the Cubs open a three-game series against the Reds at Wrigley Field. The Cubs' 2009 first-round draft pick batted .324//.385/.912 with 13 homers and 61 RBIs in 70 games with Iowa this season. He also stole 17 bases and enters the Friendly Confines touting a 16-game hitting streak.
