Wow, what a disappointing trade deadline. Rather than lament all the Cubs didn’t do, I’ll just turn it over to the media release to detail their latest personnel moves.
The Chicago Cubs today recalled right-handed pitcher Ethan Roberts from Triple-A Iowa. In an additional move, infielder Isaac Paredes has been added to the 26-man roster and infielder Miles Mastrobuoni has been optioned to Triple-A Iowa.
Roberts, 27, has not surrendered a run in four appearances (6.0 IP) for the Cubs this season, allowing seven hits and two walks with six strikeouts. He has spent the majority of the season with Triple-A Iowa after returning from the injured list, where he began the season, and has posted a 1.
