Cubs Re-Sign LHP Jack Leathersich to a Minor League Contract

The Cubs re-signed LHP Jack Leathersich to a minor league contract and he is scheduled to report to Mesa next month to continue his rehab from Tommy John surgery.

Leathersich was claimed off waivers from the Mets on Nov. 19. The Cubs did not tender the lefty a contract for next season and he elected for free agency on Dec. 2. Leathersich re-signed with the Cubs last weekend on a minor league deal.

The 25-year old southpaw had Tommy John surgery at the end of July after making his Major League debut on April 29.
