During Sunday’s Down on the Farm session at Cubs Convention, Jason McLeod said the team re-signed INF/OF Logan Watkins to a minor league contract. Watkins is scheduled to participate in mini-camp next month and will see some time in big league camp. McLeod did not say if Watkins received a non-roster invite to Spring Training.
Watkins missed the 2015 season after he tore his Achilles last February while working out in Arizona preparing for Spring Training. Watkins was on the Cubs’ list of NRIs in the spring but was unable to participate after suffering the season-ending injury.
