MESA - Chicago Cubs prospect Caleb Killian will be out until the All-Star break in July after being diagnosed with a teres major strain in his right shoulder, manager Craig Counsell announced on Thursday.
Killian, 26, left a spring outing this week, undergoing an MRI on Wednesday. It was determined he would take several months to heal.
"Caleb was off to a great start," Counsell said. "He should be very confident of where he was. That should help him over the next couple months and motivate him over how he was throwing the baseball. He got my attention.
