The Cubs will open their 2020 season Friday night against the Brewers and they just announced a full slate of festivities leading up to the game. Below is the official press release from the team detailing various events, from the recognition of the Black Lives Matter movement to honoring healthcare workers by flying a pair of blue flags, among other things.

Theo Epstein has been vocal about being a leader when it comes to changing the overall culture in Major League Baseball, which isn’t known as the most diverse sport going. The Cubs haven’t exactly been a model franchise in that regard, either, and have come under fire in recent years for comments made by members of the Ricketts family.
