Cubs Opening Day roster moves: Brad Keller added to 40-man, Cody Poteet DFA, Eli Morgan recalled

Several of these moves have been telegraphed or put on social media over the last day or so, but Thursday morning the Cubs made the following roster moves official:

  • Brad Keller has been selected and added to the 40-man roster
  • To make room for Keller, reliever Cody Poteet was designated for assignment
  • Reliever Eli Morgan was recalled from Triple-A Iowa

Other moves announced by the Cubs Thursday morning:

Right-handed pitchers Tyson Miller (left hip impingement; retroactive to March 21) and Ryan Brasier (left groin strain; retroactive to March 25) have been placed on the 15-day injured list and infielder Vidal Bruján (right elbow sprain; retroactive to March 23) has been placed on the 10-day injured list.
