Word came out late Monday night that the Cubs had swung a trade that sent minor-league infielder Jake Slaughter for righty reliever, and former Cub, Tyson Miller. That deal has now been finalized, with lefty reliever Richard Lovelady being designated for assignment to make room for Miller on the roster. More below in the press release.
ATLANTA, Ga. – The Chicago Cubs today acquired right-handed pitcher Tyson Miller from the Seattle Mariners in exchange for minor league infielder Jake Slaughter. To make room on the 40-man roster, left-handed pitcher Richard Lovelady has been designated for assignment.
