The further I get into parenting a toddler, the more the experience feels like watching the Chicago Cubs this season. Five days of smiles and giggles; four days of emotional distress. And repeat. Meanwhile, all parents of toddlers keep saying, “One day, this roller coaster will all be gone and it’ll be smooth sailing.”
I’d like to believe that calmer waters are ahead for the Cubs, but just when everything starts clicking, complacency takes over, throwing Cubs fans into tantrums (including me in front of my toddler … irony).
Meanwhile, the Cubs (or any other team, for that matter) couldn’t solve the Jeff Hoffman riddle.
