The Cubs lost a pitchers’ duel 1-0 to the Brewers on Tuesday.
The battle featured Cubs starter Jameson Taillon, who was charged with one run through 7 u2153 innings and Brewers starter Colin Rea, who limited the Cubs to four hits in five scoreless innings.
A handful of defensive gems helped Taillon pitch deep into the game. Middle infielders Dansby Swanson and Nico Hoerner turned a pair of double plays.
Then in the sixth inning, third baseman Christopher Morel fielded two straight bunts on the run and made hard, accurate throws to first, one in time and one just a hair late.
