Brothers was a first-round selection of the Rockies in the 2009 Draft and has spent his entire professional career with the organization. The 27-year-old southpaw is 16-11 with 61 holds, 20 saves and a 3.42 ERA in 286 big league relief appearances over the past five years.
Brothers split the 2015 season between the Rockies and Triple-A Albuquerque, recording a 1.74 ERA over 17 games in the Majors.
Cabrera, 18, signed with the Cubs out of the Dominican Republic in 2014. He went 4-3 with a 2.34 ERA in 14 appearances (seven starts) for the Cubs' Dominican Summer League team in 2015.
