MILWAUKEE -- "The ninth inning is our inning," Brewers third baseman Travis Shaw said Friday after his team's second walk-off win in four nights.
On Saturday, the Cubs begged to differ.
Capitalizing on a pair of Brewers errors and the absence of injured closer Corey Knebel, the Cubs scored four times in the top of the ninth, pushing ahead on Ian Happ's two-run single for a 5-2 win at Miller Park. It finally meant a save opportunity for new Cubs closer Brandon Morrow, whose work was limited to one batter in Chicago's first seven games before he closed out Saturday's win with a pair of strikeouts.
