PITTSBURGH – The last time the Cubs offense scored double-digit runs, in Miami over the weekend, they fell into a lull the next day. This time, they doubled down to beat the Pirates 9-5 Tuesday.

The Cubs have scored 43 runs in their past four games combined, putting nine or moreruns on the board in all but one of those contests.

“It’s really just nine names that stands out the most; it’s up and down the lineup,” manager Craig Counsell said.
