The Cubs have officially begun the interview process for Joe Maddon’s replacement, starting with Mark Loretta this past Thursday. Joe Girardi, David Ross, and Will Venable are scheduled for next week.

There may well be additional candidates to come in the future, with both Raul Ibañez and Joe Espada emerging as possibilities. Former Cub Sam Fuld has not been mentioned in connection with the vacancy in Chicago, but has been tied to the Pirates job and could get some looks from other teams.
