I wouldn’t have written this article at all except for this recent news item via The Athletic:
The Chicago Cubs, continuing to explore options even after the start of their spring training, are considering free agent Justin Turner as a potential addition in case Alex Bregman signs with another team, multiple league sources told The Athletic on Monday.
First, as I wrote here last Thursday, I’m a big “no” on Bregman, largely because of the cost and at least the appearance that Bregman’s performance has declined.
