After weeks of ardent calls for the Cubs to add Ian Miller to the roster, they finally relented. The full-throttle speed demon has been recalled from South Bend and will provide a wrinkle that’s been absent for a team that has dropped too many close games. Beyond just his pure speed, Miller brings an intensity that hasn’t changed much since he and his dad were asked to leave their local Little League program back in the day.
The lefty-batting Miller led all of spring training with eight stolen bases and looked like a great fit for the Opening Day roster even when it was only going to be set at 26 players.
