The Cubs had agreed to a deal with catcher Carson Kelly earlier in the week but needed to wait for a spot on the 40-man roster to open up before they could make it official. And as it just so happens, they made a little room with an under-the-radar move to acquire some little-known outfielder from the Astros. Jeff Passan reports that it’s a two-year deal for $11.5 million, which is less than what had been projected.
