CHICAGO -- With a game-winning home run, a squeeze bunt for another run and a crucial defensive play made gunning down a runner trying to steal third base, David Ross could have easily claimed player of the game honors in the Chicago Cubs' 4-3 comeback victory over the Pittsburgh Pirates on Saturday night.
But for Ross, this victory -- the Cubs’ second straight in their series and seventh in eight games against their NL Central rivals -- was about more than one person or performance.
“That’s a team win if I’ve ever seen it, everybody contributing,” Ross said.
