The Cubs made a pair of personnel moves Friday, the most notable of which was designating David Bote for assignment. They also claimed right-handed pitcher Gavin Hollowell from Arizona and optioned him to Triple-A. Bote’s Cubs tenure was highlighted by some massive hits in big moments, but his overall production made the extension he signed a few years ago look like a misstep by the front office.
That’s all I’ve got for now because I’m on a plane and have limited access for the time being. Best of luck to Bote on the next step, he may still have some impact swings left.
