If you want to know the attitude of the Cubs going into Game 6 on Saturday at Wrigley Field, their first chance to make history in front of their home fans and realize generations of fans’ greatest sporting wish, I think we can go to a very familiar song they played after a recent playoff win.
No, not “Go Cubs Go.”
The song I’m thinking about is the 1990s classic “Dre Day,” because that’s what was playing when we walked into the clubhouse after their 10-2 smackdown of the Dodgers in Game 4.
The uncensored, unbleeped version of that song was blasting out of a speaker wedged inside a locker in the visiting clubhouse and damn if it didn’t capture the team’s mood.
