Cubs cut spring roster to 42 players

Once again, none of these cuts should surprise you. We’re getting to the point where the Tokyo Series roster (plus taxi squad) will be announced early next week.

The Cubs today reduced the spring roster from 53 to 42 players.

Right-handed pitcher Ethan Roberts and left-handed pitcher Luke Little have been optioned to Triple-A Iowa. Little has yet to pitch this spring due to injury.
