So when Wednesday’s starter John Lackey was asked what fair expectations are for his team after their thrilling 5-4 comeback victory over the Miami Marlins, the always to-the-point pitcher was quick to respond.
“Fair expectation?” Lackey said. “We’re trying to win the World Series. I didn’t come here for a haircut, you know what I mean? We’re trying to get it on. I came here for jewelry.”
