SAN FRANCISCO -- A loss like the Cubs took on Monday night would have felt like a punch to the gut to most teams. But after falling 6-5 to the San Francisco Giants in 13 innings, all this group saw was a great game.
“Good baseball game,” manager Joe Maddon said. “That’s my takeaway. I think both sides should be somewhat exhilarated. Obviously they win, so they’re going to feel a bit better about it, but there’s nothing on our side to be ashamed of.”
Maddon made plenty of moves that will be questioned, especially if the Giants can pull off the comeback with two more victories.
