Cubs Bring Back Dixon Machado for Third Organizational Stint

It has felt like the Cubs are at least one piece away from really putting a contender on the field, and they may have found it in Dixon Machado. The 32-year-old infielder is back with the organization for the third time after signing a minor league deal. Apologies to those who missed the deadpan there, but this is nothing more than a depth move as they load up on reinforcements for the spring and perhaps beyond.

Machado also played for the Cubs in 2019 and ’22 but never reached the majors with them. He has played in parts of five MLB seasons with the Tigers and Giants while also spending two years in the KBO.
