Cubs Avoid Arbitration with LHP Travis Wood and RHP Justin Grimm with One-Year Deals

According to a report from the Sun-Times, the Cubs avoided arbitration with LHP Travis Wood and RHP Justin Grimm.

Travis Wood agreed to terms on a one-year, $6.17 million contract and Justin Grimm received $1.275 million for the upcoming season.

Travis Wood made $5.685 million last season and was projected to receive between $6.2-6.8 million for 2016. This is Wood’s last year of arbitration eligibility. Wood is a free agent following the upcoming 2016 season.

Travis Wood began last year as the fourth starter in the Cubs’ rotation.
