Wrigley Field joined the ranks of sporting venues with metal detectors at their entrances last year, so it comes as no surprise that we’d see similar measures enacted at Sloan Park. The Cubs confirmed as much with an email sent out Friday to Spring Training season ticket holders.
The twist for the Cubs’ Arizona home is that all guests must now enter the park through a security screening involving hand-held metal detectors. At Wrigley you pass through metal detectors prior to entry, so unless you look like one bad dude or you’re just really angry or you have a metal hip, you normally don’t get the hand-held treatment.
