Cubs’ Albert Almora ‘100 percent’ after back spasm scare

MESA, Ariz. — Cubs minor league outfielder Albert Almora said he’s “100 percent” after receiving treatment for a back spasm he suffered during drills at Sloan Park Wednesday morning.

The 21-year-old said his back knot up when he broke in to chase a fly ball. He's had back spasms in the past, and said the one he suffered Wednesday was minor.

Almora won't play in Wednesday's Cactus League game against the Cleveland Indians and wasn't sure when he'd be cleared to play again, though he said the spasm wasn't anything that would've kept him out of a more important contest.
