John Baker is joining the Cubs as a baseball operations assistant.
The organization announced the move Thursday evening.

Baker served as a backup catcher on the Cubs in 2014, the final season of his 14-year professional playing career.
Baker - who will be 35 in January - hit .192 with a .504 OPS with the Cubs in 2014, but served as a leader in the clubhouse and provided entertainment throughout the season from his pitching outing in the 16th inning of a game to playing guitar in the dugout during rain delays:
