The Cubs activated outfielder Jason Heyward from the disabled list and optioned left-handed pitcher Randy Rosario to Triple-A Iowa.
Heyward was placed on the 7-day concussion DL on May 8 after injuring himself attempting to catch Dexter Fowler's walk-off home run in the Cardinals' 4-3 victory in 14 innings two days prior.
With the news that Mariners second baseman Robinson Cano will serve an 80-game suspension and become ineligible for the postseason after violating Major League Baseball's Joint Drug Prevention and Treatment Program, the club must decide where to go from here.
