ATLANTA -- The Cubs activated Yu Darvish from the disabled list on Tuesday in time for the right-hander to start the series opener against the Braves at SunTrust Park. They optioned outfielder Mark Zagunis to Triple-A Iowa.
Darvish, who was on the 10-day DL for flu-like symptoms, last pitched on May 2 in the Cubs' 11-2 loss to the Rockies, when the 31-year-old gave up six runs (five earned) in 4 1/3 innings, with eight strikeouts and three walks. It was the second straight start in which he fanned at least eight batters and the 21st time in his career.
