The Cubs began their Fenway Park series having played okay, but not great, on the road and having to face a pitcher who’d been one of the best in baseball over the season’s first few weeks.
No matter: The Cubs have a pitcher of their own like that, Shu014dta Imanaga, and despite missing two of their best hitters they put together a varied offense, took the lead early and never looked back in a 7-1 win over the Red Sox, their fourth straight victory.
The Cubs took the lead in the second inning. Michael Busch led off with a double and took third on a single by Dansby Swanson.
