The Cubs won their second in a row over the Cardinals, 6-3, and third straight overall, and in general played a really nice game on a sultry August afternoon at Wrigley Field.
There were some exceptions to that “really nice game” thing and I’ll be opening the complaint department for that, but let’s get to the good stuff.
Javier Assad and new Cardinal Erick Fedde matched scoreless first innings. Assad’s was helped out by this nice throw by Christian Bethancourt [VIDEO].
The Cubs have missed having that, a catcher who can actually throw out runners.
