Hey, here’s a type of Cubs game we haven’t seen in quite a while: The Cubs took a lead in the first inning, built on it and hung on for a 4-2 win over the Reds, ending a three-game losing streak.
The Cubs started out like they meant business. Mike Tauchman walked and Seiya Suzuki, back in the lineup after missing Saturday’s game, doubled him to third. After Cody Bellinger lined to first base, Ian Happ cleared the bases with this double [VIDEO].
Happ, who has always previously hit well at GABP, was 0-for-11 with four strikeouts in this series prior to that hit, which was very welcome.
