The Cubs won just one game in this series in Miami, and it came at a price.
One thing I noticed in re-reading this recap is that I completely failed to mention an event that turned out to be significant. Jorge Soler twisted his ankle trying to beat out an infield hit. I seem to recall not mentioning it because Soler stayed in the game, finishing it, and didn't seem bothered by it.
But he was. He wound up missing 30 games, not returning until July 5. The Cubs went 16-14 in the 30 games Soler missed; right field was manned by Junior Lake, Chris Denorfia and Mike Baxter, none of whom added much offensively.
