I know that most of you were paying attention to the Bears game this afternoon, so ICYMI, the Cubs finally put together enough runs to defeat the Yankees 2-1 and salvage the final game of this three-game series.
They did that despite having only three hits. From BCB’s JohnW53:
The Cubs won despite making just three hits. They had done so once before this season, when they beat the Mets, 3-1, at New York on April 29. Since 1901, they are 78-437-4 when making exactly three hits, a winning percentage of only .154.
After Jameson Taillon threw a scoreless first inning, the Cubs got to work in the bottom of the inning off Gerrit Cole.
