Before Saturday, the Cubs were last at the .500 mark at 31-31, following a two-game sweep of the White Sox at Wrigley Field June 5.
It took nearly three months, but their 14-2 win over the Marlins Saturday finally put them back at the break-even mark at 65-65, and they have a pair of homers and a triple by Seiya Suzuki to thank for the victory. The 14 runs are a season high for the Cubs.
Suzuki didn’t waste any time putting the Cubs in the lead. Playing right field for the first time since the Cleveland series a week and a half ago, Suzuki was the third batter of the game.
