Well, THAT was fun!
The weather in Chicago this week has been about as good as it’s been all summer, and on a glorious, warm summer afternoon the Cubs exploded offensively for a 10-2 thrashing of the Tigers, led by Miguel Amaya’s second-inning grand slam. It was the most runs the Cubs had scored at Wrigley Field since an identical 10-2 defeat of the Phillies on July 4. That win started a 10-5 run. Maybe... ?
Anyway, let’s rewind to the beginning of this game.
The Tigers, again, used an opener, this time Tyler Holton, who had finished Wednesday’s game.
