Apparently it’s not the journey after all, it’s how you get there. The Cubs just finished up a 10-game homestand and they came out of it with a winning record at 6-4, and after sweeping the dreaded Cardinals and winning the first two games against the Marlins, the Cubs had seemingly re-established the home dominance they enjoyed last season. Tuesday night’s win not only gave them five straight wins, but they had won 12 of their last 14 home games.
The loss on Wednesday seemed like just a bump in the road — even though their rally fell short and they lost 6-5, Kyle Schwarber went 3-for-4 with a homer and two doubles.
