Chicago Cubs were one of the last Major League Baseball franchises to get a mascot when they introduced Clark the Cub in 2014. In fact, the three-time World Series winners were the 27th MLB team to have a mascot, as they realized that introducing one was a good marketing move in many ways. Clark has made Wrigley Field a more friendly place, but he has also made Chicago Cubs a more recognizable franchise globally. The lovable bear is a stark reminder of the importance for a brand to have an iconic mascot.
While Clark isn’t actually the first ever mascot the Cubs have had, he is the only one since the inception of MLB.
